Privacy Policy
Twinimy for iPhone · Last updated: 27 October 2026
Twinimy for iPhone lets you use your iPhone for the calls and texts of your own Android phone's SIM. This policy covers the iPhone app. In short: we don't collect your data. Your calls, texts and contacts travel only between your two phones.
What stays on your iPhone
- The pairing key from the QR code (in the keychain, on this iPhone only and never in a backup), and the network names and local addresses of your Android phone.
- The copy of your Android phone's texts, call history and contact names, so they are there before the phones connect. Texts and calls are kept out of iCloud backups.
- A delivery log (times and ids only, never numbers, names or text) that you can view in Settings to see why a call didn't ring.
None of this is sent to us. Settings › Forget Android Phone erases it; deleting the app removes all of it.
What the app connects to
- Your Android phone, directly over its hotspot or a Wi-Fi network both phones are on. This connection is encrypted end to end (AES-256-GCM) with a key that exists only on your two phones.
- Apple's push service (APNs). So the iPhone can ring while the app is closed, it gets a push address from Apple and hands it to your Android phone over that encrypted connection. When your Android phone needs to wake the iPhone, the Twinimy app on it asks our wake-up service to send a push through Apple. The push carries only an id, the Android phone's local addresses, a short check value that tells the iPhone the push is from the phone it is paired with and, for a text, a one-time code: no number, name or text. Our wake-up service passes the push address to Apple and does not store it.
- Apple's connectivity check (captive.apple.com), to tell you when the iPhone has no internet and wake-ups can't arrive.
What we don't do
- No account or sign-up in the iPhone app.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking, and no third-party SDKs.
- No selling or sharing of data, because we don't have it.
Permissions
- Local Network: to reach your Android phone.
- Microphone: for your side of calls, only during a call.
- Camera: only to scan the pairing QR code.
- Notifications: for incoming texts, missed calls and when the Android phone goes out of reach.
- Contacts: only when you choose to add your Android phone's contacts to the iPhone. The app looks at the numbers already in your iPhone's contacts, on the iPhone, only to skip people you already have. Existing contacts aren't changed, and nothing is sent anywhere.
- Photos (add only): only when you save photos and videos from your Android phone.
Crash reports
If you allow it in iOS Settings, Apple shares crash reports with app developers. They contain technical information about the crash, not your calls, texts or contacts.
The Android app
The Twinimy app on your Android phone is a separate app. The one offered on this site, at twinimy.com/android, needs no account and sends us nothing but the wake-up requests described above. Our wake-up service keeps a short delivery log of them for 14 days: the kind of push, its id, Apple's answer and the time, never the push address, a number, a name or a text. Like any web server, it also sees the Android phone's IP address. Other editions of the Android app have their own terms, shown in that app.
Children
The app isn't directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
